Our Business
Disciplined Investors began investing for clients in 1999. We currently have about 110 clients and $36 million in assets under management. While most clients are from Texas, several are from other states, and a few are from foreign countries like England and Mexico.
For Disciplined Investors, the investment process begins with extensive communication. Investment goals and a target asset allocation are identified with each client based on their financial needs and resources, time horizon, risk tolerance, and tax status. After placing assets in a discretionary account, custom portfolios are created for each client.
Portfolios and individual assets are monitored and adjusted over time. Each quarter, a personal letter and graphical reports are sent to clients that describe the portfolio's performance versus comparable benchmarks and the portfolio's composition.
Core investment principles of Disciplined Investors include:
Russell Livesay, a Waco native, graduated from Baylor University with BBA and Masters degrees in Accounting. He worked in Dallas, Texas with Arthur Andersen in their audit and business consulting division from 1999 to 2002. At that time he returned to Waco where he has managed two businesses. Russell served as the President of Med-Equip, a regional medical equipment company, for the two years preceding his joining Disciplined Investors. Russell brings a broad financial skill set and enjoys navigating through the challenges inherent with the financial markets.
When not in the office, Russell enjoys a variety of activities including spending time with his growing family, hunting, and playing outdoor sports. Russell currently serves as a LEAD mentor working with WISD middle school students and has contributed civically as a board member for the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and for the Central Texas Better Business Bureau. He also has served at his church, Highland Baptist, as Chairman of the Budget committee.
Russell is pictured in 2007 with his wife Carrie and children Clarke, Charlotte, Katie Leigh, and Amelia. Wow!

Outside of his business, Todd enjoys his energetic family and activities with them like Boy Scouts, soccer, and church. When possible, Todd still plays tennis and was part of the Waco men's tennis team that won a national championship in 2006. Below is the wonderful family of Todd Stoner.

Richard H. (Dick) Jackson is a native of the state of
Arkansas. After graduating from high school, Dick served a three-year tour of duty with the United States Air Force. Dick attended Baylor University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics. Following his graduation from Baylor University in 1965 he was self-employed in a family business before joining a retail firm in Memphis, TN. In 1968, Dick followed his call to attend seminary in Fort Worth where in 1970 he received a master’s degree in church administration. He later became a supervisor in the medical division of Blue-Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
Dick and his family returned to Waco in 1974 for Dick to
become the business administrator for First Baptist Church. In 1979, Dick joined the administrative staff of Baylor University in the area of personnel benefits and payroll where he served until his retirement in 2004. In the latest years before retirement his special concentration was with the Baylor University Retirement Income Plan, guiding the retirement program and giving assistance to faculty and staff in setting up investment parameters for their retirement plan investments. Todd Stoner was very pleased for Dick to join the Disciplined Investors team in 2005.
Dick is pictured below with his family of 16 during a vacation in Tennessee.
