Cheryl is a lifelong Central Texas girl with one foot in each of McLennan and Bell counties.
Cheryl’s early education was in a two-room schoolhouse followed by six years as a Belton Tiger. She attended Texas A&M and MCC while working as a purchasing agent for Davis Iron Works in Hewitt. Taking a career break as mom to Alan and Natalie, Cheryl worked part-time at First United Methodist of Waco Preschool and volunteered extensively at church and for Waco ISD. After two exhilarating-but-unsuccessful bids for WISD School Board, she enrolled at Baylor to graduate at the top of her class with a BBA in Marketing and Management.
A favorite Baylor professor recommended Cheryl to Todd Stoner, then an executive at Plantation Foods. Todd hired her as a sales analyst, later promoting her to manage cost accounting. Cheryl spent five years at Plantation, subsequently acquired by Cargill, advancing to Plant Controller. She then worked sixteen years for Extraco Banks as Senior Vice-President and Marketing Director followed by Director of Treasury Management Services.
As a long-time client and champion of Disciplined Investors, Cheryl happily accepted Todd’s offer to join the firm in 2017. She delights in meeting new people and helping clients live their dreams.
Cheryl is a Leadership Waco alum and leads a Waco Chamber subcommittee for Water and Natural Resources. A Certified Treasury Professional, she’s volunteered expertise to Ronald McDonald House, United Way, Food for Families, St. Vincent DePaul of Greater Temple, Better Business Bureau, Federal Reserve Business Payments Coalition, and Moffat Water Supply. She’s also a proud Temple Founder Lion.
Cheryl and husband Larry enjoy life, friends and long walks in Cedar Ridge neighborhood. Cheryl loves music, all-things-Internet, and baking pies. She and Larry host celebrations at their Lake Belton home near her family ranch and visit kids, grandchildren, big cities, national parks and presidential libraries at every chance.
