Todd Stoner was fascinated by the stock market at a young age and bought his first stock at 13. After majoring in Finance and Economics at Baylor University and earning an MBA at Cornell University, Todd worked at the headquarters of Hewlett-Packard in California. In 1989, Todd and family returned home to Texas where he became a financial manager at Plantation Foods in Waco. One of his favorite responsibilities was guiding the company's 401(k) retirement plan, which grew to $26 million in assets. In 1998, Todd decided to make investment management his full-time job, and he started Disciplined Investors.
In his 22 years at Disciplined Investors, Todd has enjoyed the challenge of managing investments for his clients and building strong relationships with them. He has guided investors through the bursting of the "dot-com" bubble in 2000, the financial crises in 2008 and 2009, the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, and many other volatile times. In 2007, Russell Livesay joined Disciplined Investors as both a partner and investment advisor. With continued growth, the practice added Sabrina Moore, Cheryl Traudt, and Angelo Ochoa. Today, Disciplined Investors advises individual clients and company retirement plans with portfolios totaling more than $350 million.
Outside of business, Todd enjoys life with his wife Susan, daughters Sarah, Mary and Rachel, son Michael, and son-in-law Brandon Doyle. The family is especially proud of Elise and Jocelyn, Sarah and Brandon’s twin baby girls. Todd is active at Calvary Baptist Church in Waco and has served as chairman of the Finance Committee multiple times. Todd is the President of the Board of World Hunger Relief, Inc. and Secretary/Treasurer of the Badger Ranch Homeowner’s Association. He also enjoys gardening, game playing, reading, and traveling. You can often see Todd in green and gold at Baylor games - “Sic ‘em Bears”.
